Hide Title Bar in Firefox Quantum (Firefox 57) in Ubuntu 16.04

I love to see the browser has maximum room possible for the page, so that you can see the maximum information possible.

There are certain things which you can do to achieve this in Firefox.
  1. Hide menubar
  2. Hide bookmarks toolbar
However, in Ubuntu, still I find there is something which is occupying the screen space - The title bar.

Prior to Firefox Quantum (Firefox 57) I was quite happy with the extension Hide Caption Titlebar Plus

But in Firefox Quantum, it is tricky to hide the title bar. Here also you have a wonderful extension Hide Title Bar

However, this does not hide the title bar soon after installing. You need to do something to achieve this. Here are the steps

  1. Install addon Hide Title Bar
  2. Go to addons manager (about:addons)
  3. Click on Preferences button of Hide Title Bar
  4. Click on Go to install page button
  5. Click on the first download button which will download hide-title-bar-for-firefox.deb file
  6. Install the deb file
    1. sudo dpkg -i hide-title-bar-for-firefox.deb
    2. sudo apt install -f
  7. If still title bar is visible, download and install wmctrl
    1. sudo apt install wmctrl
  8. Restart Firefox
This is all you have to do.
